CLARIFICATIONS AND WARNING REGARDING PREFERRED WORK
1. The Bar of Liège believes it is in the best interests of those accused of criminal
offences to allow those lawyers who so wish to state, that is to say put in the
public domain, the orientation of their law firm or their preferred type of work.
The following list, which is compiled on the basis of statements alone and at the
sole responsibility of lawyers who wished to be included this year, has no checks
or control by the Bar.
It should be noted that:
The type of professional work undertaken by lawyers included on the list is not
confined to the areas selected, and they may well be qualified to deal with other
types of problems;
Lawyers who have elected not to state the orientation of their law firm must necessarily
practice in a certain number of areas; As such, this list has no purpose other than
to help those accused of offences who do not know a lawyer to make an informed choice,
rather than leave it to blind chance.
2. The legal orientation of persons comprises essentially the following areas: individual
circumstances and ability, marriage, divorce, filiation and adoption.
Family inheritance law embraces matrimonial settlements, gifts and probate/succession.
The ownership, co-ownership and easement area embraces other real-estate law, privileges
and mortgages.
